Family photos

Sammy shows Julia some photos on his cellphone of his family.

Sammy: Look! Here's a photo. That's Gavin. That's his name. He was two years old here.

It was his birthday and that's my mother.

Julia: Is that your mother?

Sammy: Yeah. And, hang on. That's my father.

Julia: She's really pretty. Is he your father? With Gavin again? You have a lot of photos of Gavin!

Sammy: Yes. Everybody loves Gavin. He's so funny. Oh! Look at this one. Look! I love this photo.

Julia: Who is that?

Sammy: That's Neil with Gavin. He is my brother.

Julia: Is he married?

Sammy: No, he is still single. He is a bachelor.

Julia: So, Is Gavin your son??

Sammy: Hmph. Gavin isn't my son, Julia!

Julia: But he's got the same hair, the same eyes ...

Sammy: Yes. That's because Gavin is my nephew.

Julia: Oh...

Sammy: Yes. He is my sister's son!

Julia: He's your sister's son. So, the pretty woman in the photo is ...

Sammy: My sister Claire!

Considerando o texto, analise as afirmativas:

I. A seguinte frase “It's his birthday and that's my mother” tem duas orações com sujeito e verbo, mas elas não transmitem uma mensagem completa sem estarem unidas.

II. As perguntas “Is he your father?” e “Is Gavin your son?” são estruturadas com o verbo to be V + S + O e não necessitam de verbo auxiliar.

III. A oração negativa “Gavin isn't my son, Julia!” tem a estrutura sintática SVO, e o morfema not está ligado diretamente ao verbo principal, pois o verbo to be não precisa de auxílio.

IV. A frase “That is because Gavin is my nephew” tem duas orações com sentido completo e unidas pela conjunção because.

V. A frase “So, the pretty woman in the photo is...” tem a estrutura SVO.
