a) O Slam Poetry (conhecido como Batalha de Poesia no Brasil) teve início nos anos 80, em Chicago. O chamado "Blue worker", trabalhadores que realizavam trabalhos manuais como agricultura e construção, Marc Smith, decidiu mudar o estigma elitista geralmente ligado a poesia e iniciou o movimento no Green Mill Lounge, um dos escondirejos de Al Pacino.
